This new one of a kind Faith based animation will be released on DVD in September 2010.
Synopsis
Follow the adventures of a bold lamb (Judah) and his stable friends as they try to avoid the sacrificial alter the week preceding the crucifixion of Christ. It is a heart-warming account of the Easter storyasseen through the eyes of a lovable pig (Horace), a faint-hearted horse (Monty), a pedantic rat (Slink), a rambling rooster (Drake), a motherly cow (Esmay) and a downtrodden donkey (Jack). This magnificent period piece with its epic sets is a roller coaster ride of emotions. Enveloped in humor, this quest follows the animals from the stable in Bethlehem to the great temple in Jerusalem and onto the hillside of Calvary as these unlikely heroes try to save their friend. The journey weaves seamlessly through the real biblical accounts of Palm Sunday, Jesus turning the tables in the temple, Peter’s denial and with a tense, heart-wrenching climax, depicts the crucifixion and resurrection with gentleness and breathtaking beauty. For Judah, the lamb with the heart of a lion, it is a story of courage and faith. For Jack, the disappointed donkey, it becomes a pivotal voyage of hope. For Horace, the, well the dirty pig, and Drake the ignorant rooster, it is an opportunity to do something inappropriate and get into trouble.
The Lion Of Judah is being produced by Animated Family Films, Inc of Coral Springs in Florida and also co-produced by Sunrise Productions.

20th Century Fox will be releasing the third of “the Chronicle of Narnia series” by C.S Lewis on 10th December 2010. In this series, they plan to stick with the original story and the spiritual themes. We pray this will be another exciting example of FAITH on the big screens.
Story
Lucy and Edmund are spending a dreary holiday with their cousin Eustace Clarence Scrubb, who is a rather dour and mean spirited little boy. They are unexpectedly drawn into Narnia when a painting of a ship
on the wall of Lucy’s room comes to life, and the three children fall into the ocean to be rescued by the Dawn Treader.
Once safely on board, Lucy and Edmund are greeted by their friend Caspian (now King Caspian) who has undertaken a quest to find the seven lost Lords of Narnia, as he had previously promised to Aslan. Lucy and Edmund are delighted to be back in Narnia, but Eustace is less than enthusiastic. Reepicheep is also on board, as he has vowed to find the seas of the “utter East.

I enjoy reading Christian books that grow my faith. I love a good story regardless of how it is narrated. A book might take me awhile to read but a film takes a few hours to watch. I have read some of Karen Kingsbury novels but not the novel “Like Dandelion Dust“. This story will soon be told on the big screens.
Story
Joey lives an idyllic life with his parents on the coast of Florida. His days are spent playing with his cousins, sailing with his dad, and making up stories with his mom. It’s a perfect life until the day they receive a disturbing phone call: a stranger’s decision could tear Joey away from the comfort and security of the only home he’s ever known.
One family is determined to keep the son they love, the other is determined to begin a new life, the life they’ve always dreamed of. Joey’s future rests in their hands and someone must make the bravest decision of their life.
Sometimes the greatest love is letting go.
This new faith based film based on the novel by Karen Kingsbury will be released in the US on 24th September 2010 ( UK release not disclosed).

I love watching films especially inspirational films that are symbolic of real life events. Today, I thought about an old faith based film I watched with family. The film that came to mind was one of Tyler Perry’s classic “Diary of a mad black woman“. This is a must see film with a good mix of comedy and drama.
This film tells a story about Helen who felt she had a stable marriage and was comfortable but the story changes so quickly. The rest of the story was a journey of healing, faith and forgiveness. Just don’t mess with an angry black woman.

Lord Save Us From Your Followers was released on DVD April 20, 2010. This is a humorous and insightful documentary about how America views Christians. It answers the question, “Why is the gospel of love dividing America?” The film does not add to the fight between “Us” vs. “Them”, but has a conversation with those who believe and oppose the Christian faith. It is very entertaining and is meant to wake the Church up to see how others view our tactics.

“No one ever converted to Christianity because they lost the argument.”
-Phillip Yancey, author, Rumors of Another World
Lord Save Us From Your Followers is a thought provoking documentary that demonstrates how Americans view Christianity. It does not add fuel to the fire, but shows both sides and how their tactics are being viewed from the other side. It is very surprising that statistics show that 9 out 10 Americans claim to be Christian. So what’s all this “Cultural Wars” fighting about? The writer/director, Dan Merchant, explains that a lot of the groups, in this so-called fight, cannot think outside their own beliefs. Most are not willing to have a conversation with anyone from the other side, so we just shake our fists and scream our beliefs expecting to be heard. I can not see any evidence that this is working. People are talking about Christians from Politicians to athletes and preachers to students, but are they speaking of them positively? This film uses interviews on the streets, with people opposing Christianity, with celebrities, and even an unusual confessional booth to show how each side sees the other. It makes viewers stop and really think about how Christianity is being portrayed and is this how Jesus would approach it? But some believe today there are so many issues – homosexuality, abortions, various other religions – how can we get our values across? Through the interviews you will see that we are not doing it very well! I think Dan Merchant says it best “I found that most people that have a problem with Christians don’t have a problem with Jesus!
Lord Save Us From Your Followers is a must see for both Christians and non-Christians. It does not condemn either side, but in fact shows how we can improve our relationships. Isn’t that what Christianity is all about? It proves that actions speak louder than words and that whoever screams the loudest does not win! How did Jesus’ message of compassion, love, mercy, and empathy turn into fighting? This film clarifies that as Christians we must act like Him! How has your faith inspired you?

I came across this interesting short film award competition and was encouraged to see that there is an outcry for films that truly inspire. This competition is open to young film makers within the age of 18-25 and is a great opportunity for church youth groups, individuals and community groups to partake in this fabulous opportunity to share your faith and preach the gospel.
The winning entries will premiered at BAFTA. Now closed for entries.

Most Christian films are released in US theatres but fail to make it to cinemas in the UK. We Britons have to wait patiently for the DVD release to watch these films. I have come across some great Christian films that are released only for the USA/Canada region 1 market, making it difficult for the UK market to access these films. Faith Film producers are eager to distribute their films in the UK but cannot find the right distributors or hit a hard brick in the cinema distribution chain.

When I saw a recent BBC news report, I felt encouraged as the media is now filled with discussions about the popularity of faith films. This is what I have longed to see in the UK. The top US box office Christian Films released in 2010, “Letter to God” and “To Save a Life” have stirred up the heart of viewers and soon the demand for this service in the UK will be evident.
